The national Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has banned financial institutions in the country to carry out cash, including foreign exchange, operations with banknotes and coins of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation with the image of the objects located in occupied by the Russian Federation territory.

According to the NBU on 13 October 2017 No. 103, which amends the Instruction on procedure of organization and implementation of foreign exchange transactions on the territory of Ukraine and the regulations on conducting cash transactions by banks in Ukraine, which shall enter into force from 17 October, the ban also applies to transactions that are subject to the purchase / sale of foreign currency between banks.
"The national Bank of Ukraine has banned banks (their branches, offices) and financial institutions of Ukraine to carry out cash, including foreign exchange, operations with banknotes (Bank cards) and coins the Central Bank of the Russian Federation with the image maps, symbols, buildings, monuments, monuments of archeology, architecture, history, attractions and all other objects located in occupied by the Russian Federation and administrative-territorial units of Ukraine and/or contain the texts relating to the occupation of the Russian Federation, administrative-territorial units of Ukraine", - stated in the message.

According to the report, financial institutions and PJSC "Ukrposhta" is prohibited in the exercise and payment of transfers to accept or give cash - Bank notes (banknotes) and coins of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation with the image of the objects in the occupied territory of Ukraine.
"The national Bank of Ukraine took this decision to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine", - stated in the message.

As previously reported, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation on 12 October put into circulation a new banknote denomination of 200 rubles with the image of the city of Sevastopol, which is occupied by Russia.
"On the banknote denomination of 200 rubles, the main color is green, are placed the symbols of Sevastopol: on the front side of the image of the Monument to the scuttled ships on the back - with views of the Chersonese", - stated in the message of the Central Bank of the invaders.
