Ukraine initiated the special session of the OSCE Permanent Council due to the aggression of the Russian Federation in the area of the Kerch Strait. It is stated in the message of representation of Ukraine in international organizations on Twitter, reports mediaUA.

"Russia used the weapon against the Ukrainian vessels near the Kerch Strait," – said in the message.

Diplomats said that Russian aggression continues. It is noted that in this regard, Ukraine initiated the special session of the OSCE Permanent Council.

Recall, the naval forces of Ukraine on 25 November reported that the edge ships of the Russian Federation has carried out aggressive actions against Ukrainian ships who have made a planned transition from the port of Odessa to the port of Mariupol of the Azov sea. In particular, the Russian boundary ship "the don" made a battering RAM of the Ukrainian Harbor tugs, which had damaged the main engine of the ship, the trim and railing, as well as lost on that raft.

At the same time at the FSB, said that three Ukrainian warships in the sea of Azov "illegally entered the territorial waters of the Russian Federation and headed to the Kerch Strait".

The Ukrainian Navy has published legal commentary, pointing out that in accordance with articles 17, 38 of the UN Convention on the law of the sea and article 2 of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on cooperation in using the Azov sea and the Kerch Strait, military ships of Ukraine enjoy freedom of navigation in the Kerch Strait and sea of Azov, and this means that they can make a passage across the Kerch Strait at any time, subject to safety of navigation.

At the meeting of the Council decided to recommend to introduce in Ukraine martial law for a period of two months. It must support the MPs. An extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada appointed on 26 November at 16:00.
