"Many of those interested in Church history, you know that in January 1992, three bishops - Bishop Onufrii (Berezovsky), Serhii (Gesicki) and Alipiy (Pogrebnyak) was allegedly not signed the appeal of the episcopate of the UOC with a request to the late Moscow Patriarch Alexy II and the bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church without delay to consider the appeal of the Council of the UOC of November 1-3, 1991 and the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church," wrote Archbishop yevstratii.

According to him, it is alleged that these bishops did not sign the resolution of the Council of autocephaly, but it was published earlier, and the originals of the relevant document with the signatures of all the bishops.

April 22, Poroshenko said that the Ecumenical Patriarchate proceeded to consideration of the request of Ukraine.

7 September in preparation for the granting of autocephaly to the Orthodox Church in Ukraine, the Ecumenical Patriarchate appointed its Exarch in Kyiv Archbishop Daniel Pamphylian from the USA and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton Canada.

The actions of Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople for the appointment of representatives of Ukraine in the Russian Orthodox Church described as a "brutal intrusion" into its canonical territory and promised that they "will not remain unanswered".
