BP adopted the law "On amendments to article 5 of the law "On distribution of copies of audiovisual works, phonograms, videograms, computer programs, databases" (to overcome piracy and improve the investment climate)".
Happy obliged to publish data on the results of holographic labels for anti-piracy
According to Biznestsentr, for the adoption of the government bill No. 4571 in the second reading from the second attempt voted by 240 deputies.
The bill proposes to clarify the procedure of filing the application for obtaining the control stamps, as well as to introduce the provision on the mandatory publication on the official website of the State service of intellectual property of information about applicants and relevant copies of audiovisual products, in respect of which the decision on the issuance of control marks.
In particular, data on the applicant for legal entities must contain full name, legal and postal address, date of state registration and identification code for physical persons – surname, name and patronymic, date of state registration of physical person-entrepreneur, registration number of individual taxpayer) for which a decision on the issuance of control marks, the number of issued control marks, their series, number and date of issuance.

As noted in the explanatory Memorandum, the amendments to the current law and has a political aspect. According to the Report of the International intellectual property Alliance (IIPA) 2012 in the framework of the "301 List" on legal protection and enforcement of copyright in Ukraine are recommended to review the legislation in order to implement a more transparent process for the administration of holographic labeling (together with relevant bodies).
"In the end, the implementation of the provisions of the draft law will allow to avoid the application to Ukraine, economic sanctions by the U.S. government, ensure effective protection of intellectual property rights and Ukraine's international obligations", – the authors of the bill.
At the same time, the parliamentary Committee noted that over the past 10 years supervised release, and accordingly the circulation of copies of audiovisual works, phonograms, videograms, computer programs, databases, decreased to 33 times (all content moved to the Internet).
