The volume of imports of medicines from the Russian Federation over the past five years (from 2013) in monetary terms has decreased almost in 3,5 times – to $29.79 million

Imports of Russian drugs for five years was reduced in 3,5 times – the Ministry of health

It is stated in the message of Ministry of health of Ukraine, reports Biznestsentr.

So, in 2013, the import volume was us $net loss of 101.72 million, 2014 – $77,93 million, 2015 – $42,55 million, and in 2016 and 2017 – $35,42 million and at $29.79 million, respectively. In 2012, Ukraine imported from Russia to pharmaceutical production for the sum of $176,83 million

Reportedly, the import of pharmaceutical products from Russia in January-June 2018 was $9.67 million

"After the annexation of Crimea and the beginning of the war, Russia in the East of Ukraine there is a clear trend of reduction in imports of pharmaceutical products to Ukraine from Russia. Compared to the first half of 2017 first half of 2018, the volume of imports of pharmaceutical products from Russia decreased by 31.7% (in monetary terms)," - said in the message.

The share of imports of pharmaceutical products from Russia is 1.05% of the total import of pharmaceutical products in the first half of 2018.

Also the health Ministry reminded that Ukraine does not buy vaccines for people in Russia, because in Russia the vaccine is made in the state pharmaceutical companies, which are not certified according to GMP (Good manufacturing practicess or "good manufacturing practice"). That is, the production of vaccines in the Russian Federation has no internationally recognized system of quality assurance which ensures that products are manufactured and controlled according to quality standards and security.
