Groisman mine Akhmetov stated about the need to increase coal production

The Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman said being on one of the mines of JSC "DTEK Pavlogradugol" Rinat Akhmetov in Pavlograd Dnipropetrovsk region, reports Biznestsentr with reference to the press service of the government.

Groysman stressed that in Ukraine there are guidelines and examples of how to modernize the mining industry, which is experiencing difficult times due to the loss of capacity in the East.

"Ukrainian-grade coal (anthracite) today is under the occupation of the Ukrainian Donbass. Have to do in order to opt out of anthracite and to increase production of coal of G", – said the Prime Minister.

"Several years ago we consumed in the overall balance of 9 million tons of anthracite coal. Today 4.3 million That is reduced consumption in half. This year, the 4 units will transfer to the group G. Problem – more new longwalls, mining domestic coal for all energy needs of the complex – this is our strategy. And we're moving forward," – said Groisman.

The head of government stressed that today we need to sync: and power, which moderniziriruyutsya and translated into coal of G grade, and production, and coal production by Ukrainian enterprises.

"Until recently, Ukraine had a total energy dependence. This process we have deployed. The task now is to go to zero (for imports). And gas, and coal, and electricity. We build their capabilities. And over time, to provide not only the domestic market but also to become an exporting country", – said Groisman.

As earlier reported, the head of DTEK Maxim Timchenko said that the company in 2018 intends to minimize the import of coal, its loading maximum thermal generation coal mines.

While coal mining enterprises "DTEK Energy" in 2017, produced 24.2 million tons of thermal coal, that is 86,1% of the total production of coal in the country, which made up 28.11 million tons.

At the same time, the resolution of the national Commission №289 dated 3 March 2016 in the price of manufactured Ukrainian thermal power plants of electricity was laid the cost of coal under the so-called "Rotterdam plus", which is calculated on the basis of coal price at the port of Rotterdam and the cost of delivery to Ukraine.

We will remind, on July 13, BP has decided to allocate state mines further 1,4 billion UAH of subsidies for the repayment of wage arrears to miners. President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on August 17.

Earlier, the Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik reported that subsidies amount to 60% of the cost of wages of miners.
