In recent years Ukraine has seen a steady growth in the volume and share of non-cash transactions, but their active development is holding back underdeveloped payment infrastructure.

The national Bank is preparing new ways of cashless payments

This was stated by the Deputy Director of Department of payment systems and the innovative development of the National Bank of Ukraine Olga Vasilyeva, reports Biznestsentr with reference to the NBU.

"The share of cashless transactions using payment cards over the past three years increased by 14 percentage points and by the end of 2017 amounted to 39.3%. The number of POS terminals in Ukraine since the beginning of 2015 rose by 30%. The results of last year their number per 1 million population reached 6 thousand, but in European countries this figure is several times more", - said Vasilyev.

She added that the quantitative and qualitative provide a larger network of payment cards, the NBU has been working constructively with the Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine.

So now, in cooperation with the Ministry is working on a phased implementation over the next 2019-2020 requirements to the business entities regarding the acceptance of electronic payment instruments in payment for their goods sold or services rendered.

"NBU, understand the rapid development of innovations in the payment sector, supported the need to expand the list of payment devices and services to enable cashless payment by users using not only physical payment terminal", - said in the national Bank.

As earlier reported, the Ministry of economic development and trade has published the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, which proposes to oblige the entrepreneurs on the simplified system of taxation to provide the opportunity for cashless payments.

Given to the draft estimates of the Ministry, under the requirements will be 183,66 thousand businesses, the cost of each of them for the introduction of payment via POS-terminals is estimated at 6129 UAH per year.

Later, the Ministry said that entrepreneurs will be able to organize the calculations using payment servicesthat do not require physical payment device.

"For example, payment can be made via Internet banking, payment services online using mVisa, a QR code, through a transfer from card to card and the like," claimed the Ministry.
