The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko calls on companies of the Republic of Malta to expand its business presence in Ukraine.

"We invite the Maltese company to expand its business presence in Ukraine, their activities in Ukraine, to begin new projects", - said P. Poroshenko in the Ukrainian-Maltese business forum in Kyiv on Tuesday.
The head of state stressed that every negotiation with the representatives of Malta are yielding important results, and expressed confidence in the bright future of Ukrainian-Maltese investment cooperation.
During the business forum of the chamber of Commerce of Ukraine and Malta signed the agreement on creation of Ukrainian-Maltese business Council.

In January-June 2017 the volume of bilateral trade in services amounted to $84.9 million, compared with the same period of 2016 10.1% more ($7.8 million). Exports of services increased by 12.5% ($5.6 million) to $50.5 million, while imports increased by 6.7% ($2.2 million) to $34.4 million Positive for Ukraine's balance of trade in services amounted to $16.1 million.
Ukraine exports to Malta are mainly IT services (70%) and transport services (23,5%), imports of services associated with travel (by 98.7%).
As of July 1, 2017, the volume of direct investments from Malta to the economy of Ukraine (in equity) reached $58.5 mln (YTD accumulated in Ukraine Maltese investments increased by $1.6 million).
